Ethical Policy
Biomed Thought is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, transparency, and integrity in biomedical and clinical research publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must comply with internationally recognized ethical principles, professional standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Research Involving Human Participants
Studies involving human participants, human data, or human biological materials must receive prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent competent authority. Authors must clearly state the name of the approving body and the approval or reference number in the manuscript. Research must be conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable national or institutional guidelines. Informed consent must be obtained from all participants where applicable.
Clinical Trials
All clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible clinical trial registry prior to the enrollment of participants. The trial registration number and the name of the registry must be clearly stated in the manuscript.
Research Involving Animals
Research involving animals must be reviewed and approved by a recognized institutional or national animal ethics committee. All animal studies must be conducted in accordance with established animal welfare guidelines and regulations. Authors must clearly describe ethical approval and the measures taken to minimize pain, distress, and suffering.
Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research
Studies involving stem cells, regenerative medicine, or related biomedical interventions must comply with relevant ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks. Appropriate approvals, informed consent, and regulatory permissions must be obtained and clearly reported in the manuscript.
Use of Biological Materials, Biosecurity, and Safety
Research involving pathogens, human tissues, hazardous biological materials, or biosecurity-sensitive agents must comply with institutional, national, and international biosafety and biosecurity regulations. Authors are responsible for ensuring safe handling procedures and full regulatory compliance.
Ethical Misconduct and Publication Ethics
Biomed Thought maintains zero tolerance for plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or any form of unethical research and publication practices. Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards may be rejected or retracted at any stage of the publication process.
Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
Authors submitting systematic reviews and meta-analyses are strongly encouraged to register their review protocols in recognized registries such as PROSPERO prior to conducting the study. Submissions should strictly follow the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, and where applicable, a completed PRISMA checklist should be included to ensure transparency, methodological rigor, and research quality.
